About Christal
Christal is the primary agent at Canfield and Associates, working in partnership with other local notaries, when necessary, to meet the scheduling needs of Clients.
She has experienced a great variety of professional and volunteer opportunities in the spirit of service to members of her community. She has successfully raised three wonderful children, spent ten years as an Army wife, and the last nine years taking her years of experience and uniquely applying it to new opportunities.
Some of her accomplishments include:
- Fifteen years of experience with trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and other estate planning elements starting with time assisting family members in the Army prepare for deployments.
- Thirty years of bookkeeping, inventory, and tax preparation experience - started managing orders, inventory, and bookkeeping for her father's business and later developing into individual and then simple organization tax preparation over the last twenty-five years.
- Working directly with Variable Annuities, held a Series 6 License with FINRA, attained VA Expert Certification in addition to various life insurance and financial planning certifications through external continuing education.
- Subject Matter Expert in estates, trusts, and electronic fund transmissions, often working closely with Legal and Finance to develop procedures and training aids as it specifically pertained to beneficiary payment processing.
- Various accounting and finance experience over the last five years while building a non-profit and now LLC organizations. Most experience is direct and “uncertified,” she continues to seek continued education, reading and researching to increase expertise.
- Attended Ferris State University to achieve a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with Concentration in Small Business Entrepreneurship and Minor in Finance.
- Recently saw a need for homeless notary services and decided to obtain a Notary Commission to provide this service to the homeless in the Lansing community.
- Built on the Notary Commission by taking courses through the National Notary Association and Mark Wills' Loan Signing System to become a Notary Signing Agent and expand services.
- Attained her FAA Drone Pilot license to capture personal adventures and added those services to the company to support local businesses and individuals.
